At High-Crest Home New Glasgow, we want you to feel at home; comfortable and secure. The turn of the century building was converted into our Residential Care Facility for Seniors and still maintains the beautiful décor and classic feel, just as it did in the past. Here, residents can enjoy the warm, comforting surroundings of a historic building while receiving all the benefits of a modern care facility.

Some things to enjoy at High-Crest Home New Glasgow

• A recreation coordinator who organizes a variety of social and special events for the benefit of the residents.
• A bright, spacious room for facility functions, or to gather with family for an afternoon.
• Taking day trips to various places around the community
• Outside groups who visit the Facility to entertain and socialize with residents
• Comfortable surroundings, and a positive environment.

We encourage new residents to bring things from home that will add a personal touch to their private bathroom and bedroom. Bring in pictures for the walls; family photo albums; a favorite quilt or bed spread or other items or special mementos. One might also want to bring a television, clock or radio. Bedroom furniture is provided, but you may wish to use some of your own.

Laundry is done in house, unless family would prefer to take things home to launder. It is wise to mark all items of clothing prior to admission, as this ensures the safe return of all items from laundry.

Residents may retain their personal doctor or if necessary, our house doctor will be appointed.

Please remember that all residents’ medications are closely monitored, so new residents and families are asked not to bring any medications from home.

Dietary Services

All menus at High-Crest are approved by the staff dietician and prepared by our professional chef. Input from residents comes through the resident’s council, consultation with the dietician, and resident care conferences. Special diets will be arranged by the dietician and food preferences and dislikes are taken into consideration. We serve three meals a day, with additional nourishment mid-morning, mid-afternoon and bedtime lunch.
